Kingpin – DivX Version (Normal Quality), DVD (Good Quality), PDA Version

KingpinKingpin (1996)

IMDB rating: 6.60

Plot: Roy Munson (Woody Harrelson) was raised to be the best bowler in the world (trained early on by his father). But a fellow bowler, Ernie McCracken (Bill Murray) and a misunderstanding with some rough punks, leaves poor Roy with the loss of his bowling hand! Not to let this get him down, he gets a prosthetic hand and becomes a traveling sales man. But it’s really all down hill for him from that night on until … One day he meets Ishmael (Randy Quaid) who’s a Quaker that sneaks away from the farm to bowl (his fellow Quakers would disown him if they knew)! Roy convinces Ishmael to let him be his trainer and he’ll make him the best bowler the world has ever seen. Reluctantly Ismael agrees to go on the road and shortly afterwards actually finds that life outside the farm is quite fun. Soon their paths cross that of Ernie McCracken who is still top ranking bowler. While Roy’s career and life have landed in the toilet bowl, Ernie is still drawing huge crowds and all the babes! They both square off for the untimate bowling championship … to see which one truly IS the champion. To find that out you’ll have to see this funny and original movie. Bill Murray is at his best, since Caddyshack. Randy Quaid makes some daring choices that really work and Woody Harrelson brings us the comdey style from “Cheers” that made him a household name!

What does it mean when someone is charged with being a "kingpin"? I think is has to do with the IRS?
What is the name of the charge and what time or consequence does it carry? Please explain????!!!!!

Generally speaking, it means to be in charge of a relatively large criminal enterprise.

TruthSeeker, US American | Feb 25, 2007

A kingpin simply runs the organization. If it has to do with the IRS they have a RICO charge, in other words they didn’t pay taxes on what they made.

Criminal Investigation serves the American public by investigating potential criminal violations of the Internal Revenue Code and related financial crimes in a manner that fosters confidence in the tax system and compliance with the law.

Publication 3859 (7-2001)

Focus on Tax
Tax cases involving legally earned income are and continue to be a priority for IRS Criminal Investigation, followed by money laundering and illegal source income cases.

Why is IRS Criminal Investigation involved in financial crimes?
Since the inception of IRS Criminal Investigation, special agents have been trained to follow the money. No matter what the source, all income earned, both legal and illegal, has the potential of becoming involved in crimes which fall within the investigative jurisdiction of IRS Criminal Investigation. IRS special agents conduct full, in-depth financial investigations which are intensely revealing about income sources, business transactions and business associates. Such complex financial investigations often lead right to the door of a major tax evader, a drug kingpin, a fraudulent telemarketer, or corrupt conduct by healthcare executives, return preparers, or even the local grocery store operator.

ENFORCEMENT EFFORTS
Tax violations
Money Laundering
Currency Crimes
Asset Forfeiture
THREE ENFORCEMENT STRATEGIES
The Criminal Investigation Program Strategy is comprised of three interdependent programs: Legal Source Tax Crimes; Illegal Source Financial Crimes; and Narcotics-Related Financial Crimes. These three areas are mutually supportive, and they encourage utilization of all statutes within IRS-CI

Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, TheLife Aquatic with Steve Zissou, The (2004)

IMDB rating: 7.20

Plot: Steve Zissou, sea-film auteur a la Jacques Cousteau, has reason to be melancholy: his partner has been eaten, perhaps by a mythic jaguar shark, his wife may be taking up with her ex-husband, a young man appears claiming Steve is his father (Steve hates fathers), his most recent films have tanked, he’s having trouble raising money for his venture to revenge his partner, and he’s attracted to a pregnant reporter who prefers the pretender. At sea, in pursuit of the shark, will he escape pirates and mutiny, forge the bonds of fatherhood, place his arm around his wife, find the monster of the deep, re-establish box office hegemony, and discover a reason to smile?

Help me test my roommates' theory…which movie do you prefer?
So my roommate is under the impression that NOBODY likes both ‘The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou’ and ‘Napoleon Dynamite.’ Everyone she’s talked to either likes one or the other (or neither – but never both). So is there anyone who enjoys both movies? And if not, which do you prefer?
